Once more me and Nathalie headed to Dorset for a visit to Monkey World. For a change we took a different road into Weymouth where we were staying and to our delight spotted the top of a huge tree in a road just one across from where we were driving. As we were in a hurry we returned the next day to try and photograph the tree and to our surprise discovered not one but two trees in the back roads of Crossways. On further investigation the huge tree we'd first spotted was extremely unusual as it had two trunks. The lady whose garden it was in had only just moved there and was told that there had been a tree there before, which after it had been cut regrew with two trunks! I'm not sure how true this is or if it is even possible but will try and read up on the possibility when I get a moment. However, what I do know to be true is the owner wants to have the tree cut down, even though it does not shade their bungalow but simply because it was "a bit too big". She told us that at a previous home she'd had an old Oak cut down but stressed she had done it all above board, so hopefully if they try to cut this magnificent tree down the local authority may say no. Whatever the outcome if anyone wishes to see the tree I suggest visiting it as soon as possible. I will invariably being heading to Monkey World in the near future so will pop by to see if it still there then.
